More than a fire starter. A better beginning.
A great fire deserves a thoughtful beginning. At BurnBloc, we bring together purposeful engineering, natural materials and hands-on Canadian craftsmanship to create a fire starter that's anything but ordinary.
From quiet evenings by the fireplace to unforgettable nights around a campfire, we're inspired by the moments that come after the first spark.
Every detail has a purpose.
BurnBloc isn't simply a block of wood coated in wax. Its internal structure is built from precision laser-cut Baltic birch, with a patterned framework designed to encourage airflow and help a flame develop.
Natural beeswax provides combustible fuel, while five ignition wicks — one central wick and four additional wicks — form part of the design. Light the main wick with a lighter. No lighter fluid is required.
It's a considered approach to an everyday task. It's what we mean by the Engineered Fire Starter.

Built by design. Assembled with care.
BurnBloc is developed and manufactured in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Our process brings together laser-cutting technology and hands-on work at the assembly bench.
We cut the wooden components, assemble the intricate structures, incorporate the wicks and prepare the finished fire starters with care. The workshop is where the design becomes a real product, one batch at a time.
That direct involvement matters to us. It lets us pay attention to the small details — fit, finish and presentation — that make BurnBloc feel different.

The best part begins after the spark.
A fire has a way of bringing people together. It sets the mood for a quiet evening, turns an ordinary gathering into a memory and makes a place feel like home.
Whether you're lighting a fireplace, a wood stove or a campfire, BurnBloc is made to help you get to that moment with less fuss — so the warmth, conversation and experience can take centre stage.
